Upgraded Walk-In Cooler Floor at Sahlens Field
The Customer
Sahlens Field, home of the Buffalo Bisons, in Buffalo, NY, came to Monroe Kitchen Equipment in need of a new walk-in cooler floor with tight project deadlines.
The Problem
The walk-in cooler floor was breaking down and was in a dangerous condition. Seams on the floor were splitting and rising, and the cooler ramp was badly twisted. The poor condition of the walk-in cooler floor was creating safety issues for staff, creating tripping hazards, and leading to product being wasted when it was inevitably dropped.
Sahlen Field had a short project window in which they needed the job completed so the cooler would be ready and upgraded by the time they needed to use it.

Our team completed the installation project efficiently in two days, during regular stadium hours, partnering with Sahlens Field to ensure work was done before food deliveries arrived.
Utilizing our cutting edge waterjet cutting machine to ensure tight tolerances, our team cut high quality Aluminum to replace the worn out cooler floor. Our team then fabricated and installed durable ⅛” aluminum tread plate flooring over the existing flooring and removed the twisted ramp, replacing it with a newly fabricated one. The Monroe Kitchen Equipment team worked to ensure all seams and wall joints were properly sealed, securing the newly installed flooring and ramp.
The Result
Sahlens Field got a late start to their project in the early spring and they were pleased that the Monroe Kitchen Equipment team met their tight project deadlines. The walk-in cooler is now fully functional, staff safety risks have been significantly reduced, and wasted product numbers have decreased as well.
Sahlens Field is ready to take on its busy baseball season with an upgraded, high quality walk-in cooler floor that is durable and stable.
